Electric fused magnesia product introduction:
Fused magnesia is the product of magnesite and other magnesia raw materials after high temperature treatment to achieve sintering degree. The magnesia made of natural magnesite as raw material is called sintered magnesia by using shaft kiln, rotary kiln and other high temperature equipment in one calcination or two steps calcination process; The fused magnesite formed by electric arc furnace after melting and cooling is called fused magnesite. The magnesium oxide extracted from seawater is called seawater magnesia. Magnesia is one of the most important raw materials for refractory materials, which is used to manufacture various magnesia bricks, magnesia aluminum bricks, ramming materials, mending materials and so on. Containing more impurities, used for laying the bottom of the steelmaking furnace. High purity magnesite is made by flotation purification of natural super grade magnesite by light burning, fine grinding, pressing ball and calcination by ultra-high temperature oil shaft kiln. It is a high-quality raw material for making brick and refractory materials. Medium grade magnesia is produced from lightly fired magnesia with 97% MgO content by pressing ball and calcining in high temperature shaft kiln. The product has good sintering degree and dense crystallization, and is a high-quality raw material for the production of medium-grade magnesia refractory products. Fused magnesia is made by melting specially A grade natural magnesite or high purity light burnt magnesium particles in electric arc furnace. The product has high purity, large crystalline particles, dense structure, strong slag resistance material, good thermal shock stability, is an excellent high temperature electrical insulation material, but also the production of high-grade magnesia brick, magnesia carbon brick and amorphous refractory material important raw materials.
The production process of fused magnesia:
The whole process is short and simple, but the equipment investment and resource consumption are large. China's fused magnesia industry mostly uses electric arc furnace molten natural magnesia ore to prepare fused magnesia. The production technology and equipment are backward, the power is low, the capacity is small, the efficiency is low, the degree of automation is low, the produced fused magnesia product grade is not high, resulting in low utilization rate of magnesium resources and serious environmental pollution. The main raw material for the production of fused magnesia in our country is magnesite ore, and the current production process is divided into two forms: one-step melting method and two-step forging melting method. The one-step melting process is made by melting natural magnesite ore or refined magnesite fine powder in electric arc furnace at high temperature above 2 800 ℃. The two-step calcination melting method is to lightly burn magnesite ore or refined magnesite powder in shaft kiln or rotary kiln at about 1 000 ℃ to obtain lightly burned magnesia powder, and then fine grinding, compact, and finally in electric arc furnace through high temperature melting refining to obtain fused magnesia.
